How To Get Healthy – Steps to Start your Healthy Journey

How to Set a Health Goal You’ll Actually Stick To

Taking control of your health and lifestyle is empowering and shapes your future health and well-being. Prioritizing healthy eating, exercise, mental wellness, and rest can enhance energy levels, reduce chronic illness risk, and improve happiness. Small daily choices lead to long-term benefits, positively impacting mental clarity, emotional balance, and self-esteem. Good health brings resilience and vitality, enabling full engagement in life. When you have healthy habits with long-term goals, you invest in your future self and health.

The start of any healthy lifestyle journey begins with a goal — that moment when you decide to make a change. But here’s the thing: to make that change last, you need clarity on why you’re doing it. So, grab a fresh notebook (yes, a real one!) and let’s get started.

Write Down Your WHY

Take a moment to sit in a quiet spot and take your time with this. Think about what truly motivates you.

Is it to feel more energetic?

To chase your kids around the garden.

To manage stress?

Or maybe it’s about living a healthy long life.

Write down your WHY at the top of the first page in your notebook.

This will be your reminder when motivation dips.

Be specific, and make it as personal as you can.

Now that your motivation is clear, it’s time to lay out a practical game plan.

Don’t Assume They Are Qualified:

When it comes to fitness, if you’re following online workouts, it’s crucial to check if the trainer or channel is qualified before starting. Unfortunately, many are not, and this can lead to injury due to incorrect exercises. Online, we are constantly bombarded with advertisements for pills, protein shakes, collagen powders, and other gimmicks. However, the only person you should listen to is your doctor. So be smart online and always do your research.

Discover Fitness Activities You Love: To ensure you stick to your fitness routine, select activities you genuinely enjoy. There are many options to choose from, such as indoor walking, home workouts, swimming, or playing a sport. The list goes on, the key is to find something you enjoy that is doable and that you can do daily. Recent research shows that shorter workouts are one of the best ways to reach our health goals. So do the exercises and workouts you enjoy. I have over 1000 free fitness videos Click Here for My Free Home Workouts

Monitor Progress: One of the easiest ways to stay motivated and see your achievements is to track your progress. This can be done by keeping an eye on your workouts, water intake (aim for 8 glasses a day), or any changes in your body. Whether it’s a drop in your blood pressure or an increase in energy levels, tracking your progress can help you stay on track and identify areas for improvement.

Get Enough Rest: Adequate sleep and rest are crucial for recovery and overall well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Click Here for Advice on Sleep

Maintain a Positive Attitude: Embrace the process and be kind to yourself. Remember, every step forward is progress, no matter how small. Celebrate your successes, no matter how insignificant they may appear

Finding Support: Join fitness communities like Lucy’s Squad or surround yourself with supportive friends and family. This can provide a space to share experiences, gain inspiration and encourage others. Click Here for our FaceBook Page

Revisit and Adjust

Remember, your health journey is just that — a journey. It’s okay to stumble or tweak your plan as you go. Revisit your WHY often and celebrate your wins, no matter how small. Progress, not perfection, is the key.

Final Thought: It Starts Today

Every big change begins with a single step. You’ve already taken that first step by reading this blog, now grab a notebook, and write down your WHY. Keep that notebook close, and let it be your guide and companion on your path to a healthier, happier you. Let’s do this! Lucy
