If you’re looking to make healthier choices but feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the advice out there, don’t worry! As your online trainer, I have put together 10 easy and doable healthy lifestyle tips to help you feel fabulous. None of these involve crazy diets, intense burpee routines or long workout sessions. These are all simple, small, and manageable tips that you can easily incorporate into your lifestyle, and you’ll feel amazing for doing it!

TIP 1 SNACK SMARTER

Instead of reaching for biscuits, sweets, or crisps, opt for healthier snacks that fuel your body—like fruit, nuts, or a smoothie. Small changes in your snacking habits can have a significant impact over time. Try making this quick, refreshing, and nutritious Strawberry & Banana Smoothie! 

 You will need:

– 1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries

– 1 ripe banana

– ½ cup of Greek yoghurt (or a plant-based alternative)

 ½ tablespoon of honey (optional)

 

Instructions: Add all the ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.  Pour into a glass and enjoy! This smoothie is rich in vitamin C, fibre, and protein—making it perfect for breakfast or a snack!

 

TIP 2: COOK MORE OFTEN AT HOME

Preparing meals at home gives you control over ingredients and portion sizes. Plus, it’s a fun way to experiment with new healthy recipes!  Set a goal to cook at least three homemade meals per week and invite a friend or family member to join you for added fun. TIP 3: PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR POSTURE

 Proper posture helps distribute the weight of the body evenly across the spine and joints, reducing the risk of musculoskeletal imbalances and conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and joint pain. It also promotes healthy alignment of the bones and joints, preventing undue stress and wear on these structures over time. In today’s world, many of us tend to suffer from poor posture due to prolonged scrolling online and a more sedentary lifestyle. Make it a habit to practice good posture, and if you need to improve yours, start doing posture exercises to realign your body. My personal favourite tip of all Cardio Shopping !!! Did you know that walking around the Supermarket or the High Street still counts as exercise? So, on days when you may be struggling with motivation, consider heading out to the shops for some window shopping.

This can help you increase your step count and boost your energy. Plus, if you buy something, you’ll also give your arms a workout by carrying all those bags!

 

TIP 5: STAY HYDRATED  WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

Drinking enough water keeps your body energized, your skin glowing, and your digestion happy. Many times, when you feel sluggish or hungry, you’re actually just dehydrated. Carry a reusable water bottle and set reminders on your phone to take sips throughout the day. Try infusing your water with lemon, cucumber, or berries for extra flavour! TIP 6: GET OUTSIDE AND CONNECT WITH NATURE  

Fresh air and sunlight can significantly enhance your mood, strengthen your immune system, and provide a healthy dose of Vitamin D.

Additionally, engaging in outdoor activities is an excellent way to stay active. Spending time in green spaces helps lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and promotesLucy Wyndham Read relaxation. Consider taking your lunch break outside or going for a short morning walk to start your day. Being in nature can help you feel more present and connected, alleviating feelings of overwhelm.

TIP 7: EXERCISE SNACKING

Incorporate exercise snacks into your day as a fantastic way to stay active without committing to a long workout. By “exercise snacks,” I mean short bursts of activity that can be as minimal as a 2-minute march on the spot, any of my 7-minute free workouts available on YouTube, or 10 minutes of dancing like nobody is watching in your living room. The key is to do little bits often, which not only helps boost your energy levels but also stabilizes your blood sugar and keeps your body burning calories more efficiently. TIP 8: LAUGH MORE – IT’S GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH

I’m not joking (excuse the pun), but did you know that laughter actually reduces stress, improves heart health, and even strengthens your immune system? Find ways to incorporate more joy into your daily life.

TIP 9:  KEEP YOUR UPPER BODY STRONG

From Monday through to Friday, take a minute each day to do a quick set of push-ups, also known as press-ups. These are hands down the best weight-bearing exercise for improving our upper body strength, as well as promoting bone and muscular health. This area of fitness can often be neglected, so make it a habit to dedicate just one minute a day to this exercise. I am showing you four variations so you can find one that suits your ability. Make thisa regular practice, and you’ll soon notice improvements, whether by advancing to the next level or increasing the time or number of repetitions you perform.

HOW TO DO PRESS-UPS:

The Wall: Place your hands in line with your shoulders and lean into a sturdy wall or worktop,  simply lower your body by bending through your elbows close to the wall, hold then push back up.

The Boxed: Starting on all fours on the ground. Make sure your wrists are under your shoulders, and knees under your hips. Slowly bend through your elbows so you lower your upper body towards the ground, hold then push back up. 

The 3/4: Start by coming onto the ground and being on all fours, then push your hips forward, aiming to maintain a straight line from your knees to your back. Now slowly bend through your elbows lowering your body towards the ground, hold then push back up. 

The Full Press Up: Coming onto the ground, starting in an extended position, with arms straight. Toes tucked under, now slowly bend elbows and lower body down towards the ground hold for a second then push back up. 

 

TIP 10: TRY AND STOP SMOKING

If you can try and quitting smoking this will immediately enhance your health and save you a significant amount of money. Smoking is a major contributor to numerous health issues, such as heart disease, respiratory problems and other health conditions. Your mind is incredibly powerful; by committing to quit and maintaining focus and determination, you can overcome your dependence on nicotine. Replace that habit with the invigorating feeling of improved health and take charge of your well-being.
