Air Fryer Is It Healthy ? 3 Go To Air Fryer Recipes

The Air Fryer: The Kitchen Gadget That Makes Healthy Eating Quick and Easy

As a personal trainer, I always remind my clients that exercise is only half the equation — nutrition matters just as much. And honestly, air fryers  are a great tool for  for making healthy eating easier.

They’re quick, convenient, and use far less oil than traditional frying, which means fewer unnecessary calories without sacrificing flavour or crunch. When time is tight (which is when most people fall off track), being able to cook salmon, roast veggies, or crisp up sweet potatoes in 10–15 minutes removes the excuses.

Air fryers aren’t just for “fried” food — they’re perfect for balanced, high-protein, veggie-packed meals that support your training goals. These three recipes from my Healthy Air Fryer Recipe Book show exactly how you can keep things simple, convenient, and nutritious. If you want to look after your health  and eat well without spending hours in the kitchen, this is a great way to make that happen.

Here’s How:

Less Oil, Fewer Calories: Traditional frying methods soak your food in oil, which adds a ton of unnecessary calories and fat. Air fryers, on the other hand, use just a spritz or two of oil (if any at all), and you still get that satisfying crunch. It’s like tricking your taste buds into thinking you’re indulging when you’re really not.

Fast & Convenient (no excuses): Let’s be real: the biggest challenge with healthy eating is often time. Who has 45 minutes to roast a bunch of veggies after work? Air fryers speed things up dramatically. You can toss some seasoned broccoli florets into the basket, set the timer for 10 minutes, and boom — crispy, flavourful greens are ready before your Netflix episode even finishes loading.

Batch Cooking Made Easy: Whether you’re meal prepping for the week or just want leftovers (the lazy chef’s best friend), air fryers let you cook a bunch of different things quickly. Think air-fried tofu, roasted chickpeas, or even salmon — perfect to throw on top of salads, wraps, or grain bowls.

Super Versatile:  Want to bake some banana bread? Go for it. Want to “hard boil” eggs without water? Yes, that works too. Air fryers are not just for fried food — they’re for roasted, baked, grilled, and reheated magic. And it’s a great way to explore new healthy recipes without turning your kitchen into a sauna. So if you’ve been staring at that air fryer in your cart or on your countertop and wondering, Can this thing really help me eat better? the answer is a resounding, crispy “yes.” It’s not just a trend — it’s a genuinely useful tool that can make healthy eating way more approachable. Embrace the crunch. Try new recipes, and you won’t look back. Here are a few to try now:

INGREDIENTS:

1 large apple (e.g. Bramley, Gala, or Braeburn)

1 tbsp raisins

½ tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)

1 tsp chopped walnuts (optional, for crunch)

If using butter, place a small knob on top for extra flavour. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the stuffed apple in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes or until the apple is soft and slightly caramelised. Serve & Enjoy – Carefully remove the apple from the air fryer (it will be hot!). Let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy it as is or with a spoonful of Greek yoghurt for added creaminess.
