Baked Healthy Apple Honey Crumbles
INGREDIENTS
4 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Small knob of butter
METHOD
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Wash the apples thoroughly and use a sharp knife or an apple core to remove the cores while leaving the bottoms intact. This will create a hollow space for the filling.
In a bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped pecans, honey, cinnamon, and a little softened butter. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Place the hollowed apples in a baking dish. Divide the filling mixture equally among the apples, pressing it gently into the hollow cores.
Place the filled apples in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the filling is golden brown.
Once baked, remove the apples from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. You can top with some Greek yoghurt and sprinkle a little pinch of cinnamon for the final touch.
Enjoy your delicious baked apples with oats, pecans, and honey as a delicious dessert or even as a sweet breakfast treat.
